AN ARTFUL GREAT ROOM

The designer created this beautiful great room, where a treasured large scale painting by artist and filmmaker, Julian Schnabel, felt completely natural within its surroundings. Through furniture and textile selections, they developed a unique color story. Soft lavender, rich wine and calming neutral colors gracefully unite art and interiors.

With thoughtful space planning, this space is reimagined, not only as a functional great room, but also as a gallery space. Architectural interest was added to the ceiling plane by installing broad wood planks, providing texture and a subtle linear pattern. Draperies in a sheer Holly Hunt fabric envelop the space, letting soft light filter through.
