Contemporary Dining Room Design
A common story, the homeowners of this dining room initially built a house with transitional, dark interiors, and five years later as greys and contemporary pieces evolved within the design world, the client no longer identified with the reds and natural woven chairs of their more traditional style.
Being that the home was in a high-end subdivision where many interiors were similar, the designer was challenged to break away from the mold and elevate the design, while also keeping the look current as time goes on. Updating furnishings such as the dining table, chairs and server established a contemporary look without being identifiable by the time they were chosen. The room also exhibits elements of contrast and texture. The rug and furniture play with light and dark, while the Thibaut wallcovering exhibits a natural woven texture.
The new, more sophisticated design has allowed the homeowners to feel comfortable in their own home, as they finally identify with the design.
