Project Description

The homeowners of this stunning master bedroom share a love of art and desired a look that was out of the ordinary. With differing styles – him preferring a transitional aesthetic while she enjoyed a crisp, modern look – interior designer Retta Leritz, was challenged to strike a balance, while also keeping the more traditional architectural elements intact. In order to achieve this level of harmony, Leritz stripped back the color palette to a clean black and white scheme. The clean lines of Century chairs and a Made Goods table were seamlessly mixed in with the organic shapes of Schumacher covered pillows and a Kelly Wearstler chandelier. The room is masterfully centered on a custom bed doubling as an art piece, clad with brass and over 700 pieces, including a TV that pops out of the base. In the end, the designer was able to create a custom, artful space, functional enough for the couple to enjoy with their young daughter.
