THE WELL-TRAVELED HOME

Before purchasing their home, the homeowners envisioned a complete transformation to support the fast pace of their large family and create a restorative retreat. Painstakingly renovated, enlarged, and restored by an owner-builder team, the home balances thoughtful function with a refined sense of hospitality.

A stunning first impression, the entryway sets the tone with thoughtfully designed molding offering a fresh interpretation of traditional detailing. A statement work of art by a renowned local artist provides a focal point, while an impressive 60-foot sightline draws the eye through the cozy club room and into the Montecito-inspired great room.

The bar brings the spirit of a favorite getaway home, blending the polished sophistication of a high-end bar with the charm of a neighborhood haunt. Rich green tones, light oak, antique mirror, and richly veined Aquabella marble create a moody yet welcoming atmosphere. Designed as a true working bar, the space incorporates custom green high-gloss cabinetry, statement green marble countertops, handsome brass hardware, and dramatic Schumacher crocodile wallpaper.

Just beyond the bar, the great room’s windows allow plenty of light, mimicking the organic warmth of California living. A soft neutral color palette provides a calming foundation, while layered textures, thoughtful pattern play, and generous seating invite family and guests to gather and linger.

The primary suite continues the home’s restorative sensibility. A warm alder floating vanity, curved alabaster sconces, and Calacatta Viola marble bring understated drama to the primary bath, while the adjoining closet introduces soft pink walls, traditional floral wallpaper, and a whimsical light fixture. Refined yet inviting, this well-traveled home is a thoughtful blend of function, personality, and the effortless luxury of feeling somewhere special without having to leave the comforts of home!
