CONTEMPORARY CHARACTER

A modern conversation with a traditional home… Long-time homeowners sought to breathe new life into their beloved Georgian home, refreshing and reimagining details that had remained largely untouched since the 1980s. The design team embraced the traditional bones while introducing transitional elements, such as lighter and brighter layers and a calming green, blue, and white color palette. The result is a home that feels both timeless and unmistakably current.

Throughout the first-floor renovation, the design team thoughtfully balanced the home’s traditional architecture with a fresh perspective tailored to the homeowners’ personal style and modern way of life. Soaring ceilings, gracious proportions, arched windows, and strong symmetry provided a timeless framework for the home. Lighter finishes, organic textures, refined furnishings, and subtle touches of glamour brought a renewed sense of character to the space.

A cohesive color story weaves throughout the home, connecting spaces through thoughtful layers of blue, green, warm wood tones, and natural materials. Traditional elements are reimagined through a fresh lens: large-scale checkered flooring, tailored millwork, and sculptural lighting create a balance between expected details and unexpected moments.

By layering the old with the new, the home honors its traditional character while embracing a fresh, contemporary perspective. The result is a thoughtful transformation that feels refined yet comfortable, timeless yet current, and uniquely reflective of the homeowners who trusted the design process to bring their vision to life.
