DASH OF CHIC
The kitchen really is the heart of the home, and when it comes to a classic, but bold design scheme, you can never go wrong with a timeless white palette mixed with subtle hints of black.
In this traditional St. Louis home, the designer wanted to infuse an element of excitement. Black is a staple in the fashion world, so incorporating this rich tone into the kitchen added an instant dash of chic. The beautiful quartz material seen throughout the room provides a range of soft black veining that adds just the right amount of pattern and visual interest. The mixed metal custom hood highlights the space with its steel-and-brass details, serving as a focal point for the center of the kitchen.
The homeowner loves entertaining and spending time with their young family, and this newly renovated space serves as the perfect gathering spot. The kitchen features Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances, as well as a set of edgy brass counter stools, which sit below the beautiful black and white quartz countertop. Above the island hang two glass globe pendants from Savoy House. With their brass accents, simple silhouette and classic design, these fixtures encompass the traditional, modern and transitional aesthetic that carries throughout the home. Gold accents, from the custom hood, to the cabinetry hardware and decorative brass grilles at the wet bar, highlight this glam color story.
Inspired by art and classic design, this space came together with one main goal in mind, to produce a timeless interior mixing traditional and contemporary elements. Like the home it sits in, everything about this space is bright, elegant, and undeniably chic.
