PRETTY IN PINK
When applied in creative and unexpected ways, rosy hues have us tickled pink. It should come as no
surprise, after all the delicate color is universally tied with notions of innocence and whimsy.
Designing a kid’s bathroom is all about fun and creativity. To create a look that is both playful and chic,
we, as designers, rely on everything from graphic patterns to lively hues to infuse a small space with a
big impact. The outcome from selecting bold materials is often a personality-packed bathroom that
would be a hit with any kid.
In this girl’s bathroom, the iconic Cole & Sons “Flamingos” wallpaper steals the show. The cheerful pink
print covers the walls of this adorable bathroom boasting a scalloped brass mirror hung over a soft pink
vanity dressed in Benjamin Moore’s “Gentle Butterfly”. Brass and acrylic hardware accent the space,
with coordinating fixtures from Signature Hardware. Presented with the perfect opportunity to play with
layers of pattern and pops of color, a beautiful honed hexagon marble tile was installed on the floor to
anchor the space and serve as a well-functioning feature for slip resistance. Soft white and gold
Generation Lighting sconces were carefully selected to flank the oversized mirror at the vanity, creating
a delightfully girly vignette that is sure to make anyone appreciate the playful nature of the space.
The owners of this traditional home craved materials and finishes that distinguished their forever home
from others. Committing to this fun flamingo flair in curated details and sweet style, proved to be the
perfect way of bringing art into a small space. This timeless, feminine, stylish and blushed with pink
room provides an air of dreaminess that will keep this bathroom fresh and young for years to come.
